Invention for Common Man -Low Cost Adjustable Glasses for Everyone
Sunday, April 20, 2008
An excellent invention by Dr van der Heijde, a pair of glasses which can be used by anyone needing a pair of glasses. And amazingly they don't need to see an opthalmologist, they can adjust it on their own!
The key is a pair of shifting lenses per eye which are adjustable by a small knob.
The shifting saddle-shaped lenses were conceived by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Luis Alvarez, as he humbly points out.
From what I am hearing it can be developed in developing countries rather easily.
